There seems to be one thing us business women need to fit into our schedule even more than carving out time for more work… it’s simply scheduling in time to relax. There is so much going on in our lives, that we often push our own needs to the side for tomorrow, or next week, or next month.
It’s one of those things, we really want this, but time swallows it up before we know it. It’s a bit like exercise – when we say we don’t have time, it’s really just an excuse. There’s always some time we can dedicate to it. And who ever said, “Gee – I wish I didn’t exercise today, what a waste of time”. No! You feel great afterward and wonder why you haven’t been doing it everyday – and the same goes for time to yourself.
Take Action Challenge
Pull out your planner and move some things around to include time for some ongoing R&R. I lovingly refer to this time as Spa Day in my Filofax. That’s right – you deserve nothing less. If it can’t be done during the weekend, adjust your schedule so that you can get it in before or after work. Plan it every single week and you’ll have less stress, a clearer mind and self-respect.
